Teachers - Grade 1
I’m very excited to be in my 5th year of teaching grade 1 at LCA. I graduated from Brandon University many moons ago with a Bachelor of General Studies and a Bachelor of Education After Degree. About 1o years ago I received my diploma in Early Childhood Education.
I am so grateful that God lead me to this amazing school where I can teach and learn about God all at the same time. There are days I think I learn more from the kiddos than I teach them. I love teaching grade 1 especially teaching the students to read as it literally opens the world of life long learning to them.
I hail originally from Saskatchewan but moved to North Dakota to go to college there, then home, then Brandon University, then back to Saskatchewan, then to Lethbridge, Alberta and finally to Sylvan Lake. I am so thankful to call Sylvan home.
I have been married for 30 years to a wonderfully supportive guy, Dwayne. We have 2 children Vincent who is now in grade 12 (I’m so not ready for him to graduate) and into computers and Tatyanna who is in grade 11, who loves to sing, drama, playing piano and guitar.
Feel free to stop by the classroom for a chat and if you bring green tea (black) I’d be eternally grateful.
Here’s to an amazing year of growth in the classroom and our love of God.
